I appreciate that some local residents put a great deal of time, effort and indeed, money, into opposing the housing development at every stage, so it is understandable that people are disappointed with the independent inspector’s decision.
The Housing and Planning Act 2016 contains measures which are designed to simplify and speed up the neighbourhood planning process. The Queen’s Speech on 18 May 2016 announced a Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill 2016-17 and these may be issues to be considered as that Bill progresses through to legislation.
