District Council Group leader report
Despite the magnificent efforts of the Conservative team there was great disappointment in the local elections in May, losing some of our Derbyshire Dales senior councillors, and failing to elect some great new candidates. We have to continue to work for our communities raising their issues and, as well as being vocal in meetings, we need to be seen to be out and about and are focusing on building our local campaign teams to win back the leadership of the District Council. With this in mind, we need your help. Please do consider joining us at out next campaign session, we campaign all year round, not just at election time.
The photo above is of myself and Darley Dale Town Councillor (and former District Councillor) Ann Elliot at Darley Dale Scouts Fun Day - meeting the Leaders, volunteers and children participating in a range of events. I gave some of my Derbyshire County Council Community Leadership Funding to enable children, who would otherwise be unable to attend, access to uniform.
Our Councillors across the area are working tirelessly to make our area even better, so if you ever need our help, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Sue Hobson,
Conservative Group Leader on the District Council
